tbh Avdalas was like that in Europe as well. He has flashes like he did in that one game that ran all the hype behind him, even mocked him early as sure fire first round pick, but he was never consistent enough to keep it for longer stretches. Lots of potential but ultimately a big tease because like most greek guys, they just cant shoot or at least not consistently. He needs to be featured guy to have everything and everyone revolve around him but he aint that good to warrant all that.

How will the tourney run impact portal performance? I know success on the court should help recruiting, but is that the case in the new portal world? IU football is a good example but I feel like basketball and football are apples and oranges for the portal.

Along those lines I also wonder if the tourney success convinces some of our current guys that might be question marks to go ahead and stay and run it back one more time.

And does it make the big donors more willing to chip in a little more to help that happen if need be?

I mean maybe I'm just wrong, but they're similar HS bodies (6'7" 215 vs 6'8" 225) with what sound like similar "positionless" games built on passing and feel and high-level craft. Our staff is awesome at identifying those guys.

I wonder if it's both or none with the brothers or if only one would stay. If Mirkovic is still here, only one of Tomi or Z is going to start. Though obviously both would play a lot.

It sounds like he'd be a near-perfect fit for the Illini. But do you think it's more likely that Sam Orme will follow his Head Coach to Kansas State? Otherwise, he'd be a valuable addition to next season's Illinois roster.

Do you think that the Illini will be recruiting Colgate Guard Jalen Cox and/or Tulane Guard Rowan Brumbaugh from the transfer portal? And what are your opinions on Cox and Brumbaugh as players? Are they starter-quality players? Or are they more likely valuable players off the bench? They both had very good numbers/stats this past season.

It's hard to know which Illini players will transfer out and which players will stay. But Guards Boswell and Wagler will be leaving for sure. So, I could see the Illini signing two transfer Guards in this case. Perhaps Cox and Brumbaugh? Incoming Freshmen Morillo and Brown are also Guards. Do you think that Freshman Guard Jason Lee will transfer or stay? Id' like to see him stay; he's tough and athletic, plus I can't forget how good his father, Butch Lee, was at Marquette. But Lee's decision might be based on what transfer Guards commit to Illinois. Or if we sign Class of 2026 G Quentin Coleman of Principia HS in St. Louis.

Perhaps it’s too early to know any of those questions? Also, what do truly think of the probabilities of garnering a quality response time after time with your repeated paper long questioning?

The 6'8", 235-pound Murauskas is a stud. Whatever school signs him will have to pay a substantial amount of money. Also, If David Mirkovic comes back to the Illini next season, I don't think the Illini would have a great need for Murauskas, they probably shouldn't pay a large amount of money for a player who somewhat overlaps Mirk's size and abilities, and Murauskas would probably prefer to go to a team where he's "the man" vs splitting time with Mirk. Just my opinion. UNLESS Brad thinks that he could start these 2 players together at SF and PF, or at PF and Center. Then YES to Murauskas!

On the 1% chance that Wagler were to come back would there be a donor (or donors) that would say "Don't worry Brad, we've got this" and his money wouldn't lessen our overall budget?

Wow! How can you be so unhappy the day after a huge Illinois win? if you don't like the length of my posts... don't read them. Ignore them. (Mega-Essays? Read much?) And when were YOU appointed "defender of Indy's time"? It's just that I very much respect Indy's knowledge and opinions. So, I'll probably keep asking. In spite of your reprimand.
