Takes a man to say he's wrong.
Be proud of yourself.
I’ve never wanted to be so wrong about anything. In my life. Part of my criticism is I care too much. I’ve seen all my teams win it all once in my life. Even the Cubs. Illinois football or hoops is the one that I’ve never seen. I know we are all in the same boat. I want it so bad I can taste it. I want it every year but the first one is forever.

It got me thinking. European ballers must also watch and love March Madness, huh?
Unfortunately the time of the games doesn’t really lend themselves to European viewers so they aren’t that interested. But the NIL will continue to attract a lot of European talent and it’s one of those feedback loops.

I don’t post much on here but I read daily. I just wanted to say how much u appreciate this board, all the insight, and all the opinions. This team is so enjoyable to watch albeit frustrating at times but I had happy tears running down my face as the clocked we to 0. We all put so much time and effort watching this program. For all the games we watch, all the time posting or reading on here, money spent traveling and tickets support, this is what it is all about. I am lucky my wife allowed me to buy a last minute plane ticket to Houston and enjoy this moment in person. It was incredible to be there!! Sometimes I wonder why we this this and put all this time into it but these moments are what it’s about and the WHY we do it and care so much.

Final fricken four baby!!!! Let’s get it done! See you in Indy!

There will be some actual thoughts about the game that come to me later. But right now, it's all emotion.

So many people called and texted me after the game. And sharing this moment with them is what my fandom is all about. It wouldn't be genuine to say the wins and losses don't matter. But it's really, above all else, about the shared passion and shared experience of watching our team.

I'm happy I get to share this experience with all my friends, all my family, all the influential people who made me an Illini fan, all the players like Frank Williams who showed my young, impressionable mind how awesome Illini basketball can be. Everyone who watched the game and then thought, "I need to call [21ChampaignSt]."

I'm happy to share this with players who I actually like and root for and believe in.

And a coach who I've believed in ever since I saw us beat Purdue at Mackey in 2020.

And I'm happy to share this moment with you guys, too. Let's never forget that this is the point of all of it.

I-L-L

See ya in Indy!
