Why did Wagler only play 14 minutes the first UConn game? I know they were trying to give Petro a chance but of the other games around that time Wagler played so little minutes.

We went from likely being around +5.5 underdogs to opening as a -2.5 favorite on Saturday.

Developments continue to go our way.

Win this game and a 3OT bruiser in the game after ours would be a continued positive development.

A slight aside...who's old enough to remember when they used to play a third place game

UConn is tough but not as good as 2 years ago. Duke is talented but I don't think Scheyer is as good a coach as he is recruiter and they've had to fight against Siena and St. John's. I feel confident we could beat both.
UConn may not be as good as they were 2 years ago, but are they as good when they kicked out butts earlier in the season? I think we're a better team, but I am not confident we'll win. I do think it will be a close game and not a blowout like last time.

Mullins is an Indiana local so I think there'll be a draw there.
i could not care less if an illinoisan is playing for a team that’s not illinois in a big game. i imagine fans of Indiana universities are the same

Really wanted Duke. Alas. Hurley the most unlikeable person in all of college basketball maybe sports
Yeah the more I watched Duke, the more beatable they looked.

Their entire offense was simply Boozer bullying his way to the basket. I think Mirk has the frame and toughness where he could have held up(though of course you worry about Duke getting a friendly whistle), but I also think you could have actually played both the twins together and that Zvonimir's length would have given him fits(Boozer isn't going to blow by anyone and if you don't bite on the pump fakes he doesn't create any separation).

UConn will be a different matchup than the first game. They’ve taken Jaylin Stewart pretty much out of the rotation (he started and played 24 minutes first game), and gave Mullins most of his PT. And Tarris Reed is obviously healthy now. He was a complete non-factor the first game coming off an injury.

For IL the major difference is the emergence of Wagler. He only played 14 minutes in that first game. And Petrovic actually played 18 minutes.

I used to lament that we never got the bracket to unfold favorably for us. This is the year that, without a doubt, the bracket unfolded favorably for us. And we have been taking advantage. This is what building a team that is consistently good does. Just gives you bullet after bullet to make a run if things can go your way.

Look at our minutes allocation from that game too…haha

Hold on. I saw the half time score.

Are you telling me UCONN came back to win?

Do we like this? I was hoping for Duke

Welp... I'm excited for the games, but a bit sad to see we overpaid about $200 per ticket for my seats. Prices plummeted after Duke lost.
