Some recent entries (no clue if we're interested, but a lot of good players are starting to portal):

EDIT: Updated roster spreadsheet... B1G teams losing players... Oregon hit hard with their 2 best returners leaving... going to use Claude to update this with statistics after the season is officially over

Is Morez not on the spreadsheet because it assumed he’s going pro?

Looking at the roster checker, aren’t you missing Fagbeni, Bilic and Jakstys?

Quite a full roster already

Indy, i see a lot of debate about whether or not Lucas Morrillo is a PG. I see him listed both ways on different sites. Clearly he is a combo guard but i am curious as to if you have heard if the staff views him as a PG or not? I would tend to lean that they do and are hoping that Coleman can play a lot at the 2. I dont see 2 top 30 guys coming here to play the same position. I think if Andre stays that he and Jake will have the 3 spot on lock down and Andre will play the 2 some also when he plays with Jake a lil bit.

I really love the idea of having 2 very good freshman guards coming in should we land Coleman and i expect them both to play a lot if they do.

I'm mainly focused on rotation players... tracking every garbage time player or walk on takes more work and doesn't add much value to the exercise (jmo)

Maybe we see Bilic as a potential rotation player? I dunno

Neither Coleman (if he commits) or Morillo will be our primary handler next year …

I think they’d both be in the 8 man rotation but we will go get a couple veteran guards …

It's nice not having to fully dive into the offseason yet when we are about to be in April!

That being said, will have a lot next week-this will also be starting this week as guys from bigger schools are going to start to enter along with us having a huge visitor this week.

LOL I was just thinking last night how I really don't have a clue what's going on in the portal or the carousel, and I think I'm going to wait another week before I really absorb it.

Huge as in 7'2" skilled, muscular, rebounding, ball handling, dead eye 3 point shooter with unstoppable post moves type? That would be a matchup nightmare gladly welcomed!

IF Coleman commits (big if with Duke being his dream school) and our main rotation guys come back, without adding anyone in the portal (which won't happen), this is the depth chart. And I'm assuming Petrovic is gone.

Coleman
Morillo
Davis
Lee (not sure if he'll be back)
Rodgers (not sure if he'll be back)
Stojakovic
Mirk
Tomi
Z

The starters (?):
- Coleman
- Morillo
- Stojakovic
- Mirk
- Tomi

Bench:
- Davis
- Lee
- Z
- Rodgers
- Brown
- Davis (Landon)

Yeah, Illinois will need one veteran sharpshooter and one veteran ballhandler still unless the staff thinks Lee can make a big step up and Morillo is ready for the big stage. I don't think Brown or L. Davis will be ready just yet.

Jalen Cox?

Two top 40ish recruits making high 6/low 7 figures coming off the bench?
👀

Would Jalen Cox be viewed as a potential starter in this scenario because that's a TON of backcourt depth if you bring in a Terrence Hill/PJ/Blackwell.

The phrasing leads me to believe that the staff is fairly confident that they are landing some top veteran guards when the portal officially opens.

How do Coleman/Morillo stack up from an athleticism standpoint? Definitely an area we could use some improvement.

Fair enough. Thanks for the work.

I was really only looking at our roster. In theory, with 3 leaving (BAM, Ben and Wagler) and three freshman already signed, we are full at 15.

Besides Petrovic, will be interesting to see who else leaves/gets pushed out to make room for the guys we need to bring in

Edit: meant to reply to Narrow J

Do you anticipate any of the Illini leaving?
