I was there tonight, many of you were. Pretty sad, can’t lie. Such a winnable game.

Such a fun day though. Illini fans showed up loud and proud. The Illini hotel was a fever dream. So may Illini legends…listing the people I spoke with/got a photo with/saw/dapped up

Dee Brown
Bret Beliema
Luke Altymer
Xavier Scott
Coleman Hawkins
Myers Leanord
Deron Williams (for a split second)
Tracey Abrams

And the entire current roster 🔸🔹

Not sure we would’ve won it all. Just couldn’t get the ball to go in the hoop.

Be proud. ILL

Tough loss but those of us not directly in the program want to look at next year. Who's back who's leaving and who can we add to be back here and take the next step. What we have coming back is a great start. Should have the experience and grit to finish the job next year. Any shot to convince Wagler to come back and try to finish the job next year?

Just didn't make shots. It happens. Would have liked to see the opposite but stuff happens.

This was such a likable group of guys. Hated to see it end this way, but also not that surprised. Can’t have an off night in the tourney and that’s tough to do against top teams. Thanks to the 15 men in that locker room for making this a season to remember. IDK how many will be back, but certainly wish each of them the best in the future.

Great year! Final 4 is quite an accomplishment!
Box score simply shows shooting percentage as the difference. And… I was in shock by the luck factor! The bounce gods were not wearing orange and blue!
Lets do it again!

I've been a fan for 50+ years.
89 kick in the nuts pain 8
05 kick in the nuts pain 9
26 kick in the nuts pain 6, great year just couldn't hit shot's
Thanks Keaton, glad you got to get here. The NBA is enjoying Illini

Max 5 years to get back, and make noise
Oh no. 89 was a 10. We were without question the best team in the nation that year.

The game was certainly called differently in the 2nd half, but there is really no reason to re-litigate this game. If we had hit shots we typically make, we win.
I’m 100% saying that the officiating did not materially impact this game. However, a recurring theme of this season was Wagler getting nowhere close to the whistle that other players of his ability and stature got. He got mugged all season and hardly ever complained while Fears would act like he was shot every time someone breathed on him and convinced officials to call fouls.

It would have been interesting to see how many more times Wagler would have been at the line this season had he got the same type of whistle that Fears gets.

Thanks to everyone for an extremely fun and memorable season -- great entertainment!

It was a pleasure to watch all these guys and I hope all those eligible (or not NBA bound) will come back!!

If Wagler gets to the line and makes his free throws, that's a five point turnaround....a big deal. The lack of call is clearly due to Hurley being right in front of the mauling. Gotta hand it to him for being so influential, it was worth 5 points on that one play. That was simply too obvious to interpret it any other way.
