No thank you. He’s 6”1.

I guess I don’t really get the height argument …

Kid is one of the top PG in the country … He’s proven himself …

He’s 41% from 3 … 82% from the line …

Rebounds extremely well for his size …

He’s also WON literally everywhere he’s been …

How quickly everyone forgets Kylan is 6’2 in shoes …

So doing some research into Sencire Harris' metrics, he's actually a very interesting case. Offense is pretty much non-existant and if anything it appears his shooting and finishing have gotten worse. And a 0.99ppp is just not good. However, his non-shooting offensive aspects have actually improved greatly. He has increased assist rate and cut down on turnovers such that he now has a 1.56A:TO ratio. He's increased his offensive rebounding ability and draws about 5 fouls a game. For reference, that's Andrej Stojakovic foul drawing level.

And on the defensive side of the ball, as we know he's ridiculous good. Consistent Top 100 defender and entered Top 50 this season. Cincy was about 5.5ppp better defensively raw and 3.7ppp better adjusted for competition when he was on the floor. And he's Top 100 in steal rate.

Interestingly enough he well outperformed his teammate and prior portal target, Kerr Kriisa this season. So I do think there's something there. In the right role, Sencire can definitely play a 7th man defensive stopper and energy role on a high major in my opinion, especially if you need that extra piece who can shut down a star opposing guard. Intriguing value on the right team with correct utilization

Essentially the same as what Blackwell will cost …
Might be a hot take but give me Wright over Blackwell. More of a point and can handle the lead guard responsibility

How I look at a lot of guys who are more defense than offense in the portal …

What does he bring to the table that Ty Rodgers doesn’t ? What does he do better than Ty ?

Don’t want too many pieces that are the same …

And going to get a guy on the open market is going to cost us significantly more than retaining Ty …

The backup guard we add needs to be somebody who can step into the lineup and provide scoring if needed … I think Coleman is a superstar in the making and I think Morillo will be ready Day 1 …

BUT if they both aren’t … We need another guy …

We didn’t have that this year … Petro was a bust … And if Wagler wasn’t the best freshman we’ve ever had and was just let’s say average or the typical freshman ? We would’ve been in TROUBLE …

Let’s not Weber the recruitment after this Final Four run by trying to piecemeal a roster together with a defensive stopper here and a good shooter there. Michigan showed how it’s done: spend money by getting the players who are absolutely great at most everything. When the next Yaxel Lendebourg comes along, don’t say “golly, he’s not very moneyballish.” If the donations are coming in as fast as we’ve been told they are, spend big for natty-level players.

This board is pure entertainment and I love every minute of it.

Just a few weeks ago the consensus was to blow up the whole roster. Build around Mirk and everyone else can walk.

We go 3-0 against Penn, VCU, and Iowa. A group of teams we should beat 8 times out of 10. And we split a pair of toss up games against Houston and UConn. All of a sudden we HAVE to have everyone return. If anyone leaves it's a disaster.
Agreed. I've been on here almost 20 years and it never gets old. Heros one day, plumbers the next. And it's the same people....

Is Ty ok? Like has he recovered to his 100% self? With his lack of shooting, any reduction in his physicality and athleticism hurts him more than most.

Also Ty already comes in with an upper hand with experience, he has been around the program forever at this point. He is a great leader/lockerroom guy.

Smallness can be an advantage in basketball in certain contexts. Our team last year struggled to deal with smallness (Fears, Dent, etc).

A quick little wisp with a tight handle who can knife his way through defensive coverages and get underneath opposing ballhandlers would help us a lot. Boswell was great and brought other benefits but he's not that guy and Wagler accomplished a lot of that on offense via different means.

High School recruits = 5, Mirk,T, Z,JD, and Andre =5, Ty, JJ, Bilic ,Petro, Lee = 5 that's 15 folks!!! We want to add Blackwell and Byung that means 2 have to go

Agreed. Makes little sense to consider Sencire with Ty on the roster. I was speaking more on the conceptual basis of Sencire possibly being a consideration for a high major program with correct utilization. As for comparison, Ty's rebounding and better finishing heavily outweighs Sencire's steals. Sencire's speed and physical shutdown defense on top guards though just as heavily tips the scale towards himself.

It's why this is more a theoretical argument than an actual one. Sencire like Ty can have substantial benefit to the right team with the correct utilization. Just depends on what your team's needs are. Do you need the flexibility, rebounding, and strength, or do you need a shutdown defender who can completely neutralize a star backcourt opponent. Either could be a great fit depending on the team and need.

Personally I'd love Sencire in orange and blue again, but it also has to make sense and be the right role. And Sencire would also have to accept that role. Right now, I don't see it. But a different high major team? Maybe.

Everyone wrinkling their nose at Skyy Clark needs to take a step back.

Stick him next to Blackwell/Stoj with QC and Morillo with Mirk and the Twins and we are essentially running it back with a better 3pt shooter on ball.

Edit: should clarify better shooter than Bam on ball

Only 4 HS, but you left off Fagbemi.

It's almost guaranteed that 2 will leave. Hopefully not too many more than that.

How likely is it that Skky even gets a medical redshirt? I’m assuming it’d be for the 22-23 season(?) but he played 13 games. Is it just an NCAA crapshoot?

I mean, kind of. No one on that roster is better than Keaton. His ability to breakdown defenders multiple ways is differential than what we've ever had.

He is an extremely poor fit for how we play offense. You can basically leave him alone, which would completely clog up the spacing that makes our team elite. He might get a little run early in the season, but he'd get passed up by Coleman and Morillo, and possibly Brown.

I Sensire(ly) doubt he is transferring to play less.
