Could also see us adding a Misko special big guy just so we’ve got a little more depth there … Pepperdine kid is an option but other top secret options as well …

Add Blackwell
Retain Stojakovic

Ty might leave and....

Add Danilo and call it a night. Another big who can shoot and space the floor

Since everyone’s curious about where things stand …

Obviously would like to add Blackwell …

Ty not being there last night is interesting … Does he have the role he wants ? Brad definitely made it clear he’s got a spot if he wants it … I could see Lee sliding into that role as the 10th guy …

Mingo’s are not going to be an option for us …

We had some conversations to get an idea of the financial piece and figure out where they were at in the process in case of emergency … And to be a little more detailed, us getting “involved” helped raise the price a little bit which only tightens Orlando’s relationship with those connections … Never hurts …
Guess I'll put away all these Dre and Eminem gifs then. :(

We need a Houston type athletic big imo. Main thing we were lacking last year

The type of bigs that got outclassed, out toughed, out rebounded and shot 37% vs our bigs?

I'm not opposed to an athletic, mix-it-up type of backup big but thought Humrichous gravity on offense for spacing, ability to connect on offense without turning the ball over, and able to guard on the perimeter would be what I'd most like to replicate with a backup forward this year.

Fagbeni and Landon Davis taking up a roster spots is a bit of a head scratcher.

Lee and Ty might be waiting for confirmation that we are bringing in Blackwell. If we don’t they have a much better path to earn minutes.
I mean, are we really going to play either Davis or Fagbemi more than 5 combined meaningful minutes? No.

Also, you aren’t playing 15 guys. If they are those at the end of the bench, it doesn’t matter what level of basketball ability they have the 10-15 spots are going to play very very very little minutes.

They are (at least for next season) most likely practice players.

Their "athletic" big guys weren't able to do much against our big guys when it mattered most. You aren't going to find a big guy who is much more athletic than Z.

Our Top 3 big guys Head to head:

25 points, 17 Rebounds, 4 fouls

Houston's:

12 points, 14 Rebounds, 8 fouls.

Sometimes we were lacking effort, but our front court was elite in the Tournament.

Ben as the definition of a perfect 6th/7th man role player is such a great legacy

The season is long.

Having an absolute dog to go in when the Ivasai and/or Mirk are having an off night during a Tues night game in Feb could have B10 title and NCAA tourney seeding impacts. Just look at past years where IL has faced nastier opponents that could have been avoided with a higher seed.

I was thinking of the kind of bigs that out-rebounded us in the Michigan and MSU games, and the first UConn game. 🙂
