Since everyone’s curious about where things stand …

Obviously would like to add Blackwell …

Ty not being there last night is interesting … Does he have the role he wants ? Brad definitely made it clear he’s got a spot if he wants it … I could see Lee sliding into that role as the 10th guy …

Could also see us adding a Misko special big guy just so we’ve got a little more depth there … Pepperdine kid is an option but other top secret options as well …

Blackwell
Vaaks
Andrej
Mirk
Tomi

Bench:
Q Coleman
Z
Jake
Morillo
Ty

First guard off the bench and first big off the bench usually get pretty good minutes, and maybe one other guy. Past 8 guys the minutes usually get pretty sparse if everyone's healthy and stays out of trouble. Looking at that roster even with the questions that remain, it looks really strong and should see some great competition as guys push each other.

Character, grit, role model.
Thank you, Ty Rogers.

Obviously a moot point for us now, and wherever he goes is getting a player with great attributes regardless...

But super curious if there were any strides made with his shooting over the last two years

I guess we'll find out from afar next year

I’m honestly depressed.
It's a bummer, but I'm surprised people are surprised.

Obviously it has been a weird situation and I was personally stunned when he chose to come back this year and will always wonder how he would have been integrated if he wasn't hurt, but the moment he chose to redshirt I assumed we would never see him on the floor again, and ALL of his peers in the program are gone. He's a Chester Frazier era player.

The type of bigs that got outclassed, out toughed, out rebounded and shot 37% vs our bigs?

I'm not opposed to an athletic, mix-it-up type of backup big but thought Humrichous gravity on offense for spacing, ability to connect on offense without turning the ball over, and able to guard on the perimeter would be what I'd most like to replicate with a backup forward this year.
Have to say this again: Hum is my 3D hero! Hope he lands his feet somewhere that pays him well.

Ty is one of my absolute favorite Illinois players. I am assuming he's walking across the stage and getting a University of Illinois degree. But even if he isn't, he's been an excellent program guy. And his rebounding tenacity in the 2024 B1G Tourney is one of my favorite memories of this era. I guess when the culture is carried on by people like the Ivisic Twins and David Mirkovic, the need for someone like Ty decreases. I just don't want him to go to East Lansing.

Basing that off one game ? I mainly mean ultra athletic can get out and run. Etc. not a hoss. Small forward to power forward type

Well dang, Ty is a very special young man and will be missed dearly. Someone will be getting a guy with a lot to prove, a very good basketball player, and an even better human being! I hope he has an amazing season next year and will always be a favorite of mine and my daughter! Best of luck Ty, you will be missed!

Sucks to see Ty go but that's life. Tough choices are made. All we can do is absolutely root for the guy. Kept the culture, professionalism, and was a leader. I call that an absolute success. Hopefully his body holds up and he get out there and do what he loves. Rooting for him always.

Not like I know the guy personally or anything, but I would be shocked if he went to Michigan State or any other clear rival or direct competitor.

I can’t blame Ty. We are going to be loaded next year and he hasn’t played in a live game in two years. With our front court returning and potentially AS, it’s tough to see a world where he got more than 5-10 minutes a game

I’m sure he wants to shake the rust off quickly and he’s going to need live action minutes to accomplish that
