Undy's gotta be selling the vision of handing the '27-28 team's reins over to the HUGE freshmen class. That's the only way to explain no defections from them. Continue down the retention path and only fill in with transfers as needed. No complete overhauls.

I watched the all star game and he impressed me with his defense size and hit a few threes. I think this year he will be similar to Ben little worse at shooting. Which is awesome
With every single key eligible player returning (KW excepted for obvious reasons as a lottery pick), and the addition of outstanding freshman and portal players, the Illini are absolutely loaded for next year. If Blackwell realizes we are his best option to make a strong run at a Natty and showcase his talents to the NBA, the Illini will easily be a consensus #1 ranked preseason pick. The excitement for the start of the season in November is already building. These vets love playing with each other, and their strong bond will instill our unique EDG culture in the whole squad. We have never been closer to the Promised Land, thanks to our AD, Brad, Fletch, other outstanding assistant coaches, and the veteran players who have put their faith and their futures in this team.

The article basically states that since Andrej has announced he is returning, Illinois won't pursue Blackwell. Is this a coping mechanism? Wishful thinking?

Sounds very similar to someone else we're all familiar with.
Cox is ultra fast and can score from the 3, but vastly more in transition and mid range. Would see him as a facilitator that fills the gaps te team has...speed to cover quick guards for example.
