Transfers can be tricky, especially in the middle of a term. I wouldn't be surprised if they have to wait until mid-May.@LvilleILL1 answered this for me the other day. Stefan has signed everything and is good to go. They are still working on getting his credits transferred and a couple of procedural things. Just dotting and I’s and crossing T’s.
Anyone still getting hung up on player position categorization needs to go listen to MLT’s Illini Inquirer (very justified) rant…No one has said he's "the" backup 4. What has been said is he can contribute at the 1-4 spots. Everyone knows he's not going to be playing most of the time (if at all) at PF. Big difference.
Good point. Not many portal commits have actually signed, so a lot of players and schools are running into similar issues.Transfers can be tricky, especially in the middle of a term. I wouldn't be surprised if they have to wait until mid-May.
I've only seen a handful of portal commits who have signed, so far.
This can’t get buried at the end of the last thread. Morillo certainly does not see himself as the backup 4.
There's only one T and no I's in his name. How long can it take?!@LvilleILL1 answered this for me the other day. Stefan has signed everything and is good to go. They are still working on getting his credits transferred and a couple of procedural things. Just dotting and I’s and crossing T’s.
I think we just need to get Goode back to play the 2, and then book rooms for Detroit.![]()

Saying someone can fill in as a 4 is not the same as saying someone is a PF. Mirk is the starting PF. Z is the back-up PF.
Morillo is 6'7 210 and, if matchups warrant, could play small ball 4.
You seem to be reading that sentence as "Morillo is 6'7 210 and, if matchups warrant, could play small ballwill play the 4", which I don't think folks are actually saying.
Who porked Michael Landon????
We get to claim TSJ so it’s only fair that IU gets Luke.As a side note, I am disappointed the NBA has his college named as Indiana. He will always be a beloved Illini!

Both players accumulated more win shares (according to sports-reference) and PRPG! (Torvik) at Illinois than their other school. Goode's most productive season was at Indiana though. We get to claim TSJ so it’s only fair that IU gets Luke.![]()
I expect Coleman to be great, but there's a chance that Morillo has an even greater impact. A fairly thick 6'7" with with high bball IQ and PG skills, and has now developed a pretty consistent three point shot. If he can defend (always a challenge for a freshman), this dude is going to play a lot.

We should get them both! TJ had his best years by far with Illinois, he was with us 2 years, leading us to the Elite 8, plus he graduated from Illinois. He was at Texas Tech for 3 "meh" years (averaged under 10 pts per game). Luke played for us 3 years, graduated from Illinois, and was an important part of an Elite 8 team. He played only 1 year on an Indiana team that didn't even make the tourney. They are both Illini in my book.We get to claim TSJ so it’s only fair that IU gets Luke.![]()
What I read was that both can be claimed by UI.Both players accumulated more win shares (according to sports-reference) and PRPG! (Torvik) at Illinois than their other school. Goode's most productive season was at Indiana though.
Yes his 3 point shoot looked great in the Nike Hoops Summit.I expect Coleman to be great, but there's a chance that Morillo has an even greater impact. As I've said before, I would pay money to see the runs this summer.
They keep losing at the end of the season, they’re trying to spend what they can to prevent it this time aroundDuke trying to break a record for the most expensive roster in the NIL era
