You don’t quit 4 games into a season if you care about your career. They have no desire to leave unless it’s not on their terms. In addition, they aren’t getting Illinois quality jobs if/when they leave. They want to stay and prove themselves.

Does BB take over the def calls and insert some of Henry's def in. He has some experience guys on def who played last year. I want to insert about Cam Thomas. The first play he was called for unsportsmanlike was the OSU guy holding him and would not let go. Thomas did not look happy on the sidelines. We have a real good linebacker let's hope this does not effect him going forward.

Sell it? Look at the facts. He got rid of the Petersen “mistake” after 1 year in January 2022. That fall we won 3 more games than with Petersen, for the most wins in 15 years. 2 and 3 years after that we won 9 and 10.

Did the one year “mistake” over Petersen cause the program issues, or was the aftermath of the “mistake” one of the best stretches in a bigly long time?

Should have canned Henry before the bowl (and in reality after his first season in 23') we were sold Hauck as mentioned above and here we are without a scheme playcaller in the building and multiple coaches who 100% will not be here next year.

Feel very much for the players who worked their asses off to switch positions, learn a new scheme and some have their draft stock killed (see Xavier Scott pre/post this scheme) this falls squarely on Bert and may waste his best draft prospect QB we've had in years too.

I would rather have neither of them. Hauck has no talent on these defense but are also poorly coached. I would like to see how this defense would work if we had last years talent. We lost a ton to the nfl and portal. We also added 0 impact players on defense. Prater didn’t start at Jacksonville state and comes here and starts

Also Brett would be calling a defense he doesn’t know

There's speculation that an interim will be chosen from the current staff. Another possibility is that there may be a highly qualified DC who is currently unemployed. Anyone have any ideas about who would fit that bill?
