Illinois vs Oregon, Saturday, October 24th

I hope the two weeks we have here will pay off. Maybe two weeks with the new DC will help. I know I am reaching here but you never know. Crazier things have happened.

There is a pretty good chance both of these teams are 3-3 entering this game.

Oregon is not the team of old. We will need to force turnovers if we want any chance to win. Could be a very interesting line come next Sunday.

And that’s what is so frustrating. The schedule this year screamed the possibility of 10-2 or even 11-1 if the right pieces would have been put in place in the offseason. Such a missed opportunity.

Purdue played a brutal 3 game stretch and has actually looked like a sneaky good team. They completely steam rolled a respectable Minnesota team yesterday.

Duke is also 4-1. The problem with those games is the self inflicted mistakes. In the past couple years we win those games because we play mistake free football.

Six wins will take a miracle. But I will enjoy watching Pat Bryant chase the TD record, some of our talented freshmen getting playing time, and seeing if the OL (most of whom can return next year) can start solidifying.
