Game Thread: Illinois vs Baylor (Exhibition)

[FloridaMan]

Ahhhh…I’ve missed the doom and gloom of the game threads. Now it really feels like basketball is back!

So you're good with the play so far? Look, the game threads go the way the Illini play gos. Kind of makes sense for a game thread, right?

[joebcrazy13]

Is the season over?

Put a fork in it maybe we will get invited to the Crown at best

[Calvin]

Can we not overreact to exhibition games without our best player?

I doubt it. Anything make you think we can?

[ChiTown]

Rebound rebound lack of rebound….

[Illinisnake]

People just standing around thinking someone else is going to get a rebound haha

[New Creation]

And see, we take both of the twins out the game and now we look like a team that can compete. Outside of no one knowing who Williams is on Baylor.

Quick guards will be an issue for us all year, so I think this is a great test early for the Illini

[Illin618]

Most of these reactions are warranted. This team is preseason #3 and has FF aspirations. You can’t expect one guy (Mirk) to be the one who saves us from:

Lack of interest
Poor rebounding
TOs
Poor shooting
Unplayable frontcourt
Random azz players going off for 30+
etc.

[FloridaMan]

We always have players miss games every year. Mirk being out is no excuse for our play tonight. No excuse. The twins especially have to step up and help this team. They are giving us less than the freshman right now. That is not good.

[illiniE]

Ref are in mid season form. How was that a foul on Zens.

I dunno what it being an exhibition game has to do with anything. It's not a scrimmage. And Baylor sure isn't treating it like it's meaningless.

[Illinisnake]

Man take Andre out, he doesn’t pass and he’s a turnover machine

[New Creation]

This team is horrible defensively… absolutely basura

[LouHenson]

Well getting blown out at home is less than ideal

Someone tell Baylor this is an exhibition....

Great energy

[New Creation]

We don’t have paint defense. Which is allowing them to drive to paint and kick.

We won’t be able to out score everyone.

We have 3 months to get better at defense or we will be out in the 2nd weekend. Talent alone gets us to the sweet 16

[Pikeillinifan]

I know it’s an exhibition but this defense is horrible.

[FloridaMan]

Absolutely pathetic defense. My God.

[bvn]

Someone tell Baylor this is an exhibition....

Great energy

Someone tell the Illini this is their house!

[AssemblyHallForever]

Defense needs lots of work.

[IllinoisGrad0609]

53 points in 16 minutes. Wow. Wtf is this,Brad?

[fatboyslim]

Can we not overreact to exhibition games without our best player?

Would be nice wouldn't it?

[risingfalcon98]

Shockingly bad

[hoopsfan47]

Bears scoring on pace for about 120 or so.
