Very rarely am I shocked at a football game, but this game I am genuinely shocked.

It was a game of what went right for Illinois (2 huge TDs in the Laughery 75 yard run right before half, and the incredible Dixon catch where the DB knocked the ball down and Dixon still caught it). Then for Oregon what went wrong: 3 missed FGs (tho two were 52 yards), and a drive that stalled on the 2 yard line. It all adds up to an Illini win,

The second half was very good all around complimentary football. Felt like Illinois just played smarter, cleaner than Oregon. Before the game I thought Oregon would out-athlete us, but we out footballed them

Clayton has the ability to continue to develop, grow, improve, and gain the confidence of the staff that he is our QB for the next few years, easing the necessity to bring in a signal caller from the portal. This young man is certainly a tough competitor, but needs to show he can consistently read defenses, adjust, find the open receiver, release his passes quickly, and hit targets in stride. Exciting to see him perform going forward.

What a pleasant surprise. I can't figure this team out though. Winning games that you probably should lose and losing games you should probably be winning. This win definitely gives them confidence. Especially the defense. Much better performance. Definitely back in bowl season discussion.
Remember the turd we layed against Rutgers after the big PSU win?

Program growth would mean dominating after a big win like this.
