Maybe things reached the unfortunate stage of Blackwells agent going back and forth between schools with ‘I now have a higher offer of X …will you beat it?.’ I guess that’s his right…but at some point Underwood has to say, ‘You have my final offer…where do you want to play?’

Approaching 60 yrs of Illini BB for me. Fondly recall early names like Dave Scholz, Randy Crews, Denny Pace, Greg Jackson, Rick Howett, Les Busboom, Mike Price, Jim Dedecker, “Spoon”, Nick Conner, etc, etc. Loved them all, and all since…and still praying for that NC run!!

I found BW generally honorable, until he threw his players under the bus at the end (IIRC it was the Purdue game in February 2012 when he did this, which was the final straw as far as I was concerned.) He's an awkward guy, and as many have noted over the years, he also pursued certain players...
