Wow...I can't say I agree with this. I love Luke, but it's not often a "generational talent" goes undrafted. Given our talent level vs our competition, the fact we won 19 games the past 2 seasons is pretty amazing. We were by no means a CFP playoff caliber team
When Lovie came here we all assumed he would be good at X's and O's and at player development, but weak at recruiting. Turns out he was the worst X's and O's coach we have ever had and was bad at developing players, but had a knack for finding under the radar Floridians.
I will be happy if we make a bowl game. Our talent level, particularly the O-Line and the front 7 on defense, is below average in the Big 10. Luke saved our a** multiple times over the past 2 years; can House do the same?
Let's say you are a starter at a mid-major, College of Charleston for example. You are going into your senior year and have no chance of playing in the NBA in the future. Your agent tells you that you can double your NIL $ at Illinois, but instead of starting you'd be playing 12-15 minutes a...
PK is a very good coach, an excellent recruiter and has a lot of $ behind him. As you noted elsewhere, he went 18-2 a year ago coming off a disaster left by the previous coach. It would be pretty silly to underestimate the Ville next year
We locked in the 2 most critical guys in Mirk and Tomi. We have a guy who can play point in Vaaks. We have complementary pieces in Z, Jake, Coleman, Morillo and hopefully Ty. Lock in either Andrej or Blackwell and we can call it a day.
And I didn't even mention his TO's - we cut the lead to 4, the crowd is going crazy, and BU calls a TO? WTF?
Listen, I am happy with the job Brad has done overall given we were dead in the water when he came here. And there are times he does a good job of game prep and in game coaching. But...
dude, come on....UConn missed a lot of open looks; we missed a lot of highly contested shots. There was no ball movement, no player movement whatsoever on offense. We match up with UConn well from a talent perspective and the game was there for the taking, but we were seriously outcoached Saturday
Great season and thrilled with how far we got. There is some very high level talent on this team and when they played well they were a joy to watch.
Having gotten that out of the way, the game plan and coaching in last night's game was absolutely atrocious. UConn had more open looks in 5...
Cignetti was almost certainly a unicorn. At the same time, there is talent at the lower levels and you don't have to win a Natty in year 2 to be a good hire.
TD Arena is small but consistently sold out until this past year. There is a TON of money here that could go into the program under the right circumstances. CofC is potentially another Gonzaga under the right coach
