It's good to see all these guys working their tails off in early summer workouts. I'm kind of fascinated with Williams; to me, he's the mystery man.

I remember when Harv Schmidt played for Illinois. Also remember when he coached the team, but that's probably best forgotten.

With so many quality newcomers, I just wish there was some way to keep them all happy.

That's a very good observation; I said earlier he's one of those smart players (like Lou Henson liked to say) who lets the game come to him.

The last three batters for the Cards in the 9th were Crooks, Torres, and Church. Who the hell are these guys? It's hard to keep track of who's coming and/or going? Can we keep on winning with the lineup in this ongoing state of flux? Where's the stability? Looks to me like Marmol deserves a...

On a brighter note, this team still finds a way...although it seems at times like it's the Memphis Cardinals. Walker seems to be crossed over the bridge. .303 BA, 17 hrs. and 52 rbi. This is the player St. Louis protected over time.

I can understand the excitement about this year's team. Six newcomers going to fight it out in practice for the two starting spots; wish I could see that.

Just watched some highlight film on Williams. Is it even probable he's not at least a 4-star and top 100? He looks freakishly athletic; loves to throw down those dunks and seemed to shoot well from distance. Has beautiful form on that jumper, and creates jump shots. Not even a top 100...

He's also batting over .300, which in modern baseball is extremely rare. Got 47 rbi too. Clearly he's getting it figured out now; what a future for this guy!

Wow this kid is good. Don't know anything about his defense. I wonder if much defense is actually played in these games. It'll probably be into December before we can truly asses his D. But as for his offense, it looks like the sky's the limit.

No, it won't. If 9th man is our primary concern, then we should have a terrific season.
