Graduated from U of I in 1972. Attended Navy OCS in Newport RI the following year and got commissioned as an ensign. Served 23 years active duty as a Naval officer, retired as a Commander. Served multiple sea tours in cruisers and destroyers, was in combat a few times, and served overseas shore tours in Greece and the Philippines. After the Navy, worked in business operations for NBC Universal. Married with 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. Love swimming, hiking, travel, history, and Illini sports. Life is good here in Texas with the wife, who I have converted into an Illini fan.
