I'm pretty much with you. The universities are prostituting their names. It was always 90% BS, now it's 100%. The way baseball does it is much more logical. Kids can go to a minor league or go to college and play. That said, while it's the way it is, I hope we clean up!

Absolutely, if we actually get him. I'm always skeptical about rumors of imminent commitments. Recruiting is fluid.

I think the key is a quality big, and at least one quality SG (Lanier and/or Poplar would be great) who can shoot and handle. A talented wing/SF would be great, but the first two should be the priorities. Maybe Demin is quick enough and a good enough shooter and passer to be a legitimate guard?

Difficult to say. Based on the portal guys we were bringing, this past year's team didn't look like a top 10 team. But the players obviously developed chemistry and played together well and we had an excellent year. Very hard to predict the synergy a group of players will have or how guys...

We absolutely have to get another quality guard. And I agree 2 would be better. Lanier or Poplar would seem to fit what we need. A quality big, 1 or 2 guards and we're in good shape.

Is this based on any actual evidence of just wishful thinking? I've seen nothing substantial that we're even in the ball game for him. No such thing as a lock, especially for foreign prospects.
