Honestly I really don't see how this team would be significantly better with Abrams and black. There are substantial lineup holes but more importantly there are huge gaping holes in our all around game planning and schemes.

I think it looks a lot nicer, but does seem like an exorbitant bill, even considering the HVAC, mechanical, and behind-the-scenes stuff.

My point was speaking more to the fact that Ohio State attracts much better talent than we do, at all positions.

He's scared of wing talent so he's going to Ohio State? For all the hand wringing, how many times has Illinois' depth actually scared away any talent in the past 10 years?

With Ohio State kind of showing their true colors of late I figured people would stop thumping their chest about losing a close game to them.

If anything, doesn't that reinforce the fact that our biggest selling point doesn't really factor in to a lot of these kids' decisions?

Chicken and the egg, my friend. The one remotely successful season we've had under Groce did not exactly lead to a boon in recruiting. That's why I'm skeptical when people say wait until the recruits see next year's team. The bulk of '17 kids won't even wait that long.

Legit 1s and 5s are the hardest to come by and thus generally the hardest to recruit, but Groce is out of mulligans. By the time the jury's out on Lucas, John Groce is likely out of here. The "but"s don't fly in high-major basketball. Nobody cares if you have the reputation of being a good...

I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to take from this. Every time two teams play eachother they use the same rules, so what difference does the bump in run production make? The AL wins more games in interleague because they have a slight advantage from dedicating a roster spot to a slugger...

Half the teams in America want a 5th year true center. Those guys are few and far between and hard to get on top of that.
