I have been wondering why for over two weeks. Counsel does not seem to make lineup changes well, nor see well when a change is needed.

I was around in 1969 and witnessed it firsthand, suffering through it. Maybe that is why I cannot be so optimistic. It set the tone for my fandom of a team considered to be the lovable losers.

It's about time. But the Cubs front office should DFA Counsel and call up a minor league team and manager since that's what they are playing like.

Me too. Enough is enough. Counsel is not the manager the front office thought they were getting. He should at least move Tucker out of the top slots in the batting order. They bring Cassie up and sit him on the bench. Oh well - it was fun while it lasted.

My Vote is yes. I have been a Cubs fan since the 1960s. I went to McKendree College, and we had a group that attended Cardinal games, often the Cardinal Cub series games. I would enjoy a baseball thread.

I, too, grew up watching WCIA channel 3—it was fuzzy and on a black-and-white TV. I also watched the Cubs on WGN and listened to the Cubs on the radio while playing wiffle ball.

It is great to hear from an older Illinois sports fan. I am from Lawrenceville, Illinois, and lived down the street from Dennis Shilder Jay's older brother. I have been an Illini fan since 1968. I got a Master's Degree from U of I in 1980 and had basketball seats under the basket in those days.
