Quality 7 footers aren't easy to land, whether out of H.S. or the Portal. I agree that it would be nice to add another big, but I'd be happy to get one in the 6'9 or 6'10 range. This is college basketball. Not many teams, even Natl Champion teams, have a quality 7 footer.

Yeah. Shannon's our best player and he should get most of the minutes at the 2. However, Harmon and Harris are too good to not get playing time. I have a feeling we'll go small a lot and play TSJ at the 3 and either Harris or Harmon at the 2.

    1. I don't care that much about his height and weight. Does he have the skills? 2. We don't know if DGL has a better shot than Epps. We won't know until he plays in a college game. People are citing all these qualities he has w/o actually seeing him in real action. We do know he can jump...

We didn't have coaching issues last year. The issue was lack of a PG. You can certainly blame that on the coach as talent acquisition is a (huge) part of their job. But the Xs and Os and in-game coaching was generally fine.

I don't think Freshmen have trouble playing PG any more than any other position. The mental part of the position is usually something one either has or doesn't have. Like a QB in football. You can't just take a player at another position and try to make him a QB. We've had plenty of FR PGs...

And Clark and Epps are not small (6'3 and 6'2 respectively and neither skinny). I'm not worried that much about DGL's size. Defense is about willingness, quickness, and basketball intelligence. Neither Clark nor Epps seemed that willing to play defense and neither is that quick. DGL...

Way less than ideal. I love Sencire's intensity, but I've seen nothing out of him showing that he can run an offense. Not to mention the bad FT shooting.

This doesn't make sense. We had a fantastic off-season until we "lost" our guy at PG. Guerrier, Domask, and Harmon are all good to very good players and we also got TSJ and Hawk back. I think BU and Co were trying to make our lineup as attractive as possible for a PG to join us . They did...

This kid led the Pac 10 in assists! Seems like he'd get along very well with Shannon, Hawk & Co. And he's also a good 3-pt and FT shooter. Hope we reach out and see if he's interested. Not sure many teams have more to offer a good PG than us. We've got an excellent roster at the 2-5...

Just don't see it w/o a capable PG, which we don't have. I think they'll be about as good as or slightly better than last year. Add a capable PG and I would predict Sweet 16 or better as we have some really good pieces at the 2-5 positions. If only there were some good PGs out there...

I agree. His weighting 165 lbs is not that crucial. Even if he gained 30 lbs, he's still not going to push Edey around. If he catches on to the offense, is competent at finding teammates, takes care of the ball, and of course plays decent defense, he will get PT. Not predicting all...

Well done my friend. PG by committee - why not give everyone a try!

Assuming Hawk, Dain, and Guerrier are healthy (please!), it will be tough for Amani to get much playing time. He would have to be really good to steal minutes from those three.

Yeah, doesn't matter who is uncle is. There is plenty of good shooting instruction available to an Illini basketball player. He needs to take about 500 shots a day between now and season start. Start with 6-8 foot shots and very gradually move further away from the basket. It's a very...

I think we'd have have excellent talent around Mulcahy. However, who are the two legit NBA wings? Obviously TSJ is one, but I can't see anyone else on the roster that comes close. I'd think the starting 5 would be Mulcahy, TSJ, Domask, Hawk, and Dain. Maybe substitute Guerrier for Dain...
