Terrence Shannon Jr. Found Not Guilty

I think we agree more than you realize. When you say "practically proved beyond a reasonable doubt that he is absolutely innocent" or "very likely fully innocent", I see that as in agreement with saying "while I can't be 100% certain...". I just should have worded it differently for this...

Terrence Shannon Jr. Found Not Guilty

@Fighter of the Nightman , I just posted something that will probably explain some of this, but since you and I have discussed this respectfully enough over the months, I'll respond to you directly with hopefully a bit more clarity... I think you have latched onto part of what I said without...

Terrence Shannon Jr. Found Not Guilty

It's pretty clear that those who responded negatively to my post greatly misunderstand me and/or what I'm trying to say. I know from experience that I tend to hedge on things that most people are comfortable saying they're "100%" certain about. And I wasn't talking about legal innocence or...

Terrence Shannon Jr. Found Not Guilty

As some others have posted, this is a day of mixed-emotions. I'm glad our justice system has a threshold of "beyond reasonable doubt", and based on everything that was made public and reported, I'm obviously very glad the jury saw the reasonable doubt that we all saw and found TSJ not guilty...

Terrence Shannon Jr. Found Not Guilty

Right, but then the other poster (and perhaps TSJ's attorney, depending on how it was worded) is embellishing when they said "The science shows that the DNA certainly belongs to 5 other men" if the "science" is ambiguous on what it means given the thresholds.

I don't think it's worth worrying about whether our height is a benefit or a hindrance until we see them play together. There are different ways to play good defense, and I think it depends on a lot more than height. Houston led the NCAA in opponents' ORtg with a ridiculously short lineup...

The gif shows (with the help of AI) OA walking out as though triumphant. I think it's reasonable to think that implies a deal is done and just waiting to be publicly announced. Knowing how the board will run with the slightest hint of good news, it would seem prudent to only post such a strong...

I wasn't in the "doom and gloom" group, so I have no issue with this. I was, however, in the more "neutral" group in mid-May who thought there was still a good amount of work to do (prior to adding KJ and whoever might be imminent). At that time, there was also an "eternally optimistic" group...

FWIW, Ty started all 38 games and averaged 22.7 minutes, but I don't presume to know anything about how he'd feel about fewer minutes

I assume you're referring to Storr? If so, I think he's a big step down from TSJ, and apparently the staff agreed (despite a lot of Storr hype on this board). Plus that was early in this recruiting cycle- inflation wasn't just year-to-year, but month-to-month. I can still agree that 2M for...

That was last year though. I think they (especially TSJ) would get a lot more this year.

Good question. Bart Torvik says "it is based on descriptions in the play by play data. So "layups" "tips" "dunks" (etc) are counted as rim attempts, and all other twos are counted as mid-range. Obviously this is far from an exact science, as it relies on scorekeeper descriptions and play-by-play...

None of this past year's Illini with any reasonable shot volume exceeded 42% on mid-range jumpers: It's only a good shot if you have no other options, you might get fouled, or it's the end of the game and you only need 1 or 2 points. Even "keeping the defense honest" sounds like a bad reason...
