None of us know if they accept 7-6 over there because they've never had that luxury. Campbell is their first coach with an overall winning record since the 70s. The only coaches in Iowa State history with a higher winning percentage than Campbell coached in the early 1900s.
Unless there is a scandal or complete collapse that forces Iowa states hand, Campbell isn't getting the boot anytime soon. His seat is about as hot as Bert's which is to say it's ice cold for at least another year or two.
I'm surprised there didn't end up being more opt outs. I think Liberty has just as many players sitting out as Oregon does. Regardless I'm looking forward to that game.
In the CFP era G5 schools have a 4-5 record in NY6 games so those matchups are usually much closer than people expect. Sounds like Oregons QB will sit out and I'm sure he'll be far from the only one for Oregon. Despite that, Oregon has a lot more talent but Jamey Chadwell probably has the most...
Every single Big ten school with the exception of Nebraska who was a member when we added them is AAU. Clearly it still means something to the people that make these decisions. At the end of the day the Big Ten is an academic alliance first and an athletic conference second in the minds of...
With all due respect, and remember I'm saying with all due respect, the US News and World Report rankings ain't worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin getting it on. Neither of those schools are AAU and that's an automatic disqualifer for anyone that isn't Notre Dame.
I wouldn't mind bringing in Dae Dae Hunter from Liberty. He averaged 6.6 and 6.4 YAC respectively at Liberty and Hawaii the last two seasons and is an explosive receiving threat out of the backfield as well. 2 years of eligibility remaining so he could be a good stop gap solution until these...
Need? Maybe not but there's no such thing as too much depth, especially at injury prone positions like WR. That position group might be the most talented it's been in awhile next year but a lot of that talent is underclassmen.
Context is important. We just came off a 2 win season, Bert was just hired and it was slim pickings by the time we picked up art. He didn't exactly recruit like nick saban at Wisconsin either but he still managed to find guys that fit his system and was able to win a few games in the process...
This place cracks me up. A qb chooses an air raid offense over a run first offense and it creates an existential crisis. Bert hasn't really given us a reason not to believe he will have the right people in the right place at the right time.
I would like to add that I'm not concerned at all about this commitment. I just find it funny that the % that recruits say they are committed just keeps going up over time.
