    Illini Football 2026

Pay back for Duke trying to punk Illinois last year with the schedule. Duke opens with Tulane on 9/5, FWIW. 2 years ago they played EIU on Thursday, followed by the memorable X game vs. Kansas on a Saturday. Friday vacation days are excellent. Start your weekend Thursday night in...

He's also the same guy that scolded everyone when it was suggested Feagin wasn't a RB. Quite a marginal track record he has.... In general, I'll say it again, the bulk of college football programs aren't going anywhere. They will continue to compete against either other, albeit, somewhat...

Probably, but not for long. It is bad but I'm not sure Illinois could take the hit. It also helps seat back sales. Maybe a GLP-1 promotion for every season ticket sold. One free shot and a 50% off coupon sponsored by Eli Lilly.

Those old seats where just scaffolding with bleachers on top. We'll find out the plans at some point but that area of the former scaffolding support is going to be used for something....I think (or maybe hope ??). Or should be used. I'm sure they could come up with some way to support...

If it happens, there will be quite a few more teams going to the new group than just the B1G and SEC. Kansas will likely be one of the many.

    Illini Softball 2026

Guessing McMahon didn't have interest. I'm not sure Illinois can/will commit to softball to the level he would command. Illinois has more pressing needs. Illinois really needs someone that can coach pitching - at a high level. I don't know who that would be or.....who would accept. The...

Yes, top players will actually play instead of opting out. Miami was a #10 seed and the only team to give the basketball school a game.

Let me add - top teams can afford to lose two to three games and they'll still make the playoffs. Hence, better OOC games. Underwood likes to build an excellent schedule because he doesn't have to worry about winning every game to make the tournament.

But he's right. That's where it's evolving and $$ and fan interest is up.

A lot of gobbledegook here, from both of you. Playing some college football games on a Friday night will have zero impact on HS football beyond talking heads and a few legitimate gripes here and there. But it changes nothing at the HS level.
