As a fan, listening to his comments around your first takeaway was tough. I get it, the world has changed and with so much money on the table these players are going to do, and should do, what's best for themselves. Yet now the norm every offseason is likely to be your star players and breakout...

Agreed that last year hurt bad, but in retrospect I think I'm more disappointed with how the 2022 season ended, which is ironic given how that was one of our best seasons in decades.. Winning at least 10 games was there for the taking and we blew it. Struggling to win 6 games is certainly...

This is what the transfer portal has created, and you are seeing it in basketball as well. But in football, I think the idea of signing a high school recruit, redshirting him, and then developing him into an eventual 1 or 2 year starter as an upperclassman is going to become a thing of the past...

Give me a guy weighted toward x's and o's and our staff is set. Basketball like chess where clever tactics can achieve breakthroughs and overcome stronger pieces.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this isn't universal for BU, is it? For example, I assume we made promises to Ayo and Skyy regarding playing time in order to get them to commit. So my assumption is that depending on the caliber of player, BU might be more inclined to provide upfront guarantees of...

    Coaching Carousel (Basketball)

Considering how everything played out, I'd argue BU should be elated with how things were handled, particularly in how BU got to avoid getting tangled up in this saga. This was/is a complex case that was automatically going to trigger legal and university athletic department and student conduct...

I firmly believe we don't lose the Penn State game if we have Wayne McClain drawing up plays at the end.

I'm not sure it had anything to do with focus compared to the inability of our coaches to draw up an effective inbounds play in the moment. This is when you need a guy like Wayne McClain on your bench.

Gotta draw up some better inbounds plays at the end there. Woof.

I'm not from Chicagoland so this is an interesting perspective to me. Had to look up this Taylor Bell fellow. If indeed he had an impactful negative influence as you say, the fact that he is in the Illini Media Hall of Fame is gross. https://illinimedia.org/alumni/hall-of-fame/2006-2/taylor-bell/

Perhaps this is what happens when the Court of Public Opinion starts having an undue influence within the Court of Law. That said, if this exact situation happened to a player from a different team, say someone like a Jordan Bohannon from Iowa, I can pretty much guarantee that most on here...

Quite a bit to sift through but I think the answers are here: https://conflictresolution.illinois.edu/policies/student-discipline/articleII And to add from the FAQ: Can the University discipline a student for sexual misconduct even if the student is not convicted of a crime? Yes. The student...
