    Adam Miller enters transfer portal

It’s unfortunate for Miller he’s not able to be where he wants to be if it’s a Parent dictating his college career. Curbelo might have the ball in his hands quite a bit, but Underwood‘s offense requires several ball handlers and can highlight the skill sets of each player. If anything Curbelo...

    Looking ahead to 2021-2022

I realize I have stated this in another thread a few weeks ago, but to me, Curbelo doesn’t have a bad outside shot. He doesn’t usually set himself to receive the ball in a triple threat position. he naturally looks to pass or drive. He’s going to be a star here.

What also helps is our willingness to reverse the ball. We typically see a great seal by Kofi and a better entry pass when we do.

Part of Curbelo being a better outside scoring threat is him catching the ball in a position to shoot. His instincts right now are pass or drive. His shot looks decent otherwise.

I think you double Kofi until he proves he can pass out. Other than that, I got nothing.

I love the roles Grandison and Williams play on this team. Seeing Grandison’s overall growth throughout the season and Williams ability to hit the three at 55% has been a nice surprise.

I think he has it in him. It’s more confidence and learning how to use his body to make space and draw fouls. He has the body. I believe He’ll make that big jump from freshman to sophomore year.

Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread (December 2020)

How has COVID impacted the relationship building with recruits? to Me, non-blue blood teams that are similar to Illinois, would be at a greater disadvantage recruiting against bluebloods under the current pandemic.

It is always good to learn with a win. I have no doubt there will be a lot of film watching on how we defended Preston. You have to give credit to Preston though. He did a terrific job reading the defense. We can take a lot more away from this game than the first two.

    Illini Basketball 2020-2021

I tend to believe better scouting hurt his inside game. He missed quite a few bunnies when he was struggling at the end of the season also and that can affect a player mentally.

Kofi Cockburn declares for NBA Draft

As much as I despise Iowa, I would love to see Kofi up against Garza next year. He’s a great litmus test for Kofi on both ends of the court. And to state the obvious, both Ayo and Kofi have been dramatically impacted by the restrictions from Covid-19. They needed to be seen in the tourney and in...

    Looking ahead to 2020-2021

The intriguing thing about Underwood in these first few years is his growth as a coach and that his teams get better as the season goes along. There are several ways to win games. Toughness and effort will always be a part of Underwood’s teams. He‘s proven this year that he’s very capable of...
