All my kids, last one in a few months, are ISU alumni. I am a fan of ISU for them and because of all of the money I've spent there. BUt as a previous employee of UI for many years and growing up a big fan, I will never go against the Illini!
Someone mentioned going to a zone in this thread, I should have quoted. I haven’t watched enough of ISU to know if it’s part of their defensive scheme. Typically a very good defensive team like ISU doesn’t have to use a zone.
There are benefits to going to a zone for Iowa State,. However, the negative is the impact on defensive rebounding, especially against a team like Illinois, who does extremely well rebounding offensively. This will be a good game.
Domask booty ball may not work as far as him scoring, but it does draw double teams. If he can read the defense and hit the open guy or we have good ball rotation after the initial pass, I think it puts a lot of pressure on the defense.
