I agree we should pretty much score at will, but if we give up 27 to them we will get buried in later games

Exactly ! The top schools dont recruit anymore, they simply complete transactions with practically unlimited bank accounts . Then we have to listen to their BS : " its all about the kids "

It truely amazes me how many good d linemen go to the big schools and spend 4 years as a practice player , never seeing the field in games. Theres always next year to recruit over them.

Since we apparently cant recruit d linemen , we are going to have to recruit o linemen and convert them to defense. And pay whatever in the portal to supplement that .

I have no patience with these verbal Illini who who use the school for social media clicks and all the free stuff the university tries to bribe them with. Although I dont like it, I have more respect for those who wont give Illinois a sniff.

We need a new tackle eligible play. And a maniac backfield blocker in the Jay Proch mold ( from a decade ago ). What about some undersized powerful offensive guards or tackles and specifically convert them into D. linemen.

I think he has great potential to be an improved blocker when he doesnt have to worry about someone chopping his legs out from under him carrying the ball.

Seems like common sense and reality set in for Fagin. He will flourish at tight end much more than RB . Dont Know if Jordan Anderson will be successful at running back . Im all for changing systems and personel. I think we had about maxed out in old one. Its been great past 2 years - 19...

How about the LB Williams from Florida. same class as Cam Thomas. Had a good record in high school

If you have watched Indiana, have you noticed they never give up a sack or tackle for loss right up the middle ? Any success against them comes from the edges. So thats why I think our new center is the most necessary recruit after the qb . How many times did other teams come right down...
