He'd have a full off-season to level up his D, he can clearly handle the ball and pass, and looked like he had a decent shot from his film.
The kid wants to play, has nothing to do with fan support. Don't blame him one bit.

Stagnant offense with too much of Keaton simply dribbling the ball out top looking for a driving angle, not enough bite on defense, no-one attacking except for Andrej, and tight shooting.
