Never know what will play out, but he will be highly motivated to return while a frosh will be highly motivated to earn his minutes in the interim.

And no one is mentioning 2 turnovers while playing 12 guys. But, remember, a team is never as good as their best game...or as bad as their worst. But I love watching a plethora of Illini playing well and hitting shots. Gotta work hard to make this their floor...against the TTechs, Dukes...

Don't know how anyone else feels, but watching all these freshmen play is quite uplifting. They are learning and playing well. The will continue to learn and play even better. Bottom line is, I would rather have Mirk and all the vets in full health as that raises the floor and ceiling...

Ben became a dependable defender. But the Achilles Heel for the Illini last season was their inability to slow down quick, slashing guards. To that end, the addition of QC and LW should help in that regard. Missing Mirk will definitely effect their ability to defend inside, so we will have...

The only thing that concerns me at all with recruiting these days is the lack of closing on any players over 6'9". Reminds me of the 63 Hoosier team when the VanArsdales were the big guys for them at 6'5". They went with 6'4" Bolyard and McGlocklin and 6'2" Jimmy Rayl for the starters...

The only problem with this frosh bunch is that none are over 6'9"...and only one of those. We sorely need a couple of three bigs to compete. If Brad can bring in a couple of good ones next year, the ceiling is FF level once again.

Illini have been blessed with so many talented guards that standing out over his teammates may be the biggest hurdle for him to reach that status. He is good with high IQ, but I have her to identify the strengths in his game that are above all others. And two, maybe three really talented...

Has anyone seen evidence of any kind that QC is not an elite shooter? I sure haven't. And maybe the best rebounder for his size since Don Freeman?

Just wondering if anyone knows if the Burris ref is related to Bo Burris from Danville who did many of my games back in the early 60s? Bo was my favorite.

He seems to have a bit of want to....and that little spark can turn into a sufficient defender with work and good coaching. I expect him to improve slowly during the season and become acceptable.
