I don't get excited about early commits either. Before the transfer portal, this decommitment would have stung a lot more. Now, it's like "meh".

My mom is from the South. Every time I would visit my relatives, they would always talk about how weak Illinois and the rest of the Big Ten is. I will always root for the Big Ten unless in tournaments and playoffs.

I would take a shot at winning a national championship over losing in the semis any day.

UConn may not be as good as they were 2 years ago, but are they as good when they kicked out butts earlier in the season? I think we're a better team, but I am not confident we'll win. I do think it will be a close game and not a blowout like last time.

UConn kicked our butts last time we played and didn't trail all game. I'm hoping they're coming into the game overconfident.

Arizona, Duke, UConn and Michigan scare me.

Absolutely, but I worry about schools like Notre Dame, Ohio State, and dare I say Indiana going after him too.

I just read today: Four-star Illinois QB commit Kamden Lopati has a visit scheduled with Notre Dame. :oops:

I prefer to be a program like Duke or Kansas where good coaches would leave a decent P4 school to take a coaching job at Illinois. I agree with you. I am also tired of being in the conversation of biggest/best program to have not won a title.

I totally agree. I couldn't believe those ticky tack fouls they called on us when Michigan State was mauling our players.
