At this point, an NIT bid is the BEST Groce can hope for. And he may not get that.

It might send a message to the recruits that Whitman and Illinois are seriously committed to winning. Right now the message is we don't care how inept Groce is - he's our guy. If I were a recruit, I would be afraid they'll bring back Groce next year and I'd never see a NCAA bid in my 4 years...
