Gies Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch update for the Duke game:
First, a review of my UAB prediction: I guessed 52,000 and actual announced crowd was 52,673. There of course weren't that many people in the stadium, but it was still a good turnout for late, hot Thursday night. Compare it to our...
Final Gies Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch for UAB:
We're tracking to have about 4,000 less tickets sold than Week 1 last year (Saturday game). The Western Illinois game had paid attendance of just over 56k. I think we get up to about 52k. So that's my official attendance guess: 52,000
Updated GMS Sellout Watch for UAB. A few hundred more tickets have moved in the last few days.
I noticed the DIA said in a recent email that "less than 2,500 tickets remain" for the Duke game. Using that as a barometer, I think it's likely my estimates are light by a couple thousand. So I'm...
Here is the first Gies Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch of the 2026 season.
The tickets website it up to its usual shenanigans; I'm currently working to analyze and dial in my assumptions. It feels like the tickets sold estimates for some of the conference games are especially light. That said...
Just because there are not season tickets in the Horseshoe available for sale doesn't mean we sell end zone seats better than the sidelines. They deliberately cut off season ticket sales in the end zone to allow availability of single game seats at multiple price points.
My understanding is that the original plan was to have speakers/sound projected throughout the stadium, but I've heard recently they aren't doing that now. I've also noted it being absent as a listed upcoming improvement in any recent press releases or public comments.
As someone who sits in...
Within the press release, there are details about the other boards. A "super ribbon" to go above the student section in the north endzone that will measure 12.5 ft by 180 feet. That is approximately 3x the height of our current ribbon boards, and pretty much confirms that it will be used...
69’ tall…you must be talking about the SEZ board. No chance they are putting one that big over the student section.
I have yet to see anywhere official confirm what is or is not being put in the NEZ. A while back somebody shared the clipping below from a press release in June. It just says “new...
Where does one access the entrance to the East Colonnades? I haven’t been on that side of the stadium much and one time this year I was doing a walk about the stadium and noticed there wasn’t a clearly marked ramp for it in the SE tower.
Gies Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch 2025 Season Recap
It was another fun and memorable home slate of games that featured:
- 6 wins. 12-2 at home over the last two years. We may be starting to turn GMS into a tough place for opponents to come win.
- 5 great weather days. I truly think the...
Gies Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch for Northwestern:
First, apologies for not providing more updates lately. I don't know if the four straight sellouts got my out of my habit or what, but anyways, back on the horse...
To be expected, this will be the lowest announced crowd of the season...
Final Gies Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch for Maryland:
Should be a good crowd, but it visually appears slightly less sold than it did for WIU. Maybe with a nice day, there are a few day-of tickets sold.
We'll see if I do any better than my prediction from week 1...I still don't have much...
Honored to be asked, and I wish I could, but 1) you may have noticed I've been posting a bit less - I've been very busy at work recently and it isn't letting up for a bit. 2) I just took one look at the Ticketmaster site and I have absolutely no idea how to inspect the traffic flow and identify...
Updated Gies Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch for Maryland:
I'm going to have to shake off the rust on my ticket guessing this week. I think what the ticket tracker is currently showing is a little heavy, and we're headed toward a crowd of 55-56K. An added challenge in guessing attendance this...
