I think NIL is spent more on retention than recruiting. In looking over the past few years I did notice that currently our average score for the 27 class is 86.67 while the 25 class is at 86.79, so nearly identical. While that average was higher in 26, we are still getting good guys.
Overall...
The one trillion games I referenced would involve not only no counting stats but also no shots attempted or fouls committed which both players did in these games.
A little context on the 'one trillion' games...Snell played 9 minutes without recording a single stat, after a quick internet search, I couldn't find Ayo having played longer than 1 minute during his one trillion game.
As someone in some thread pointed out, we almost always go into each season over-rating our depth. Somehow we have wildly over-corrected that sentiment. Never change, Loyalty.
The players did decide the game. Wemby decided to throw an elbow to a guy's face. He put himself in position to get ejected and that's exactly what happened. There's plenty of other physical ways to fight back without getting yourself kicked out of the game.
It's actually much more recently than most would think. Ayo, Malcolm, and Meyers all played in the 2023 NBA, although M&M combined for 14 games played.
