I'm old enough to remember when Andrej Stojakovic was not considered a good defender. We should really reach out to the staff that helped with his defensive development to see if they can work with our guys.

100% agree and man I love the look of this team, a bunch of large men that can shoot and handle. In the spirit of position-less ball, I'd just add that Morillo has the size/grit to fill in at the 3 and Mirk played really well as essentially our 2nd ball handler. RE other Davis I think its all...

Feel like it's fitting that you just suggested a committed player who already transferred from his first school because he wanted a starting role. Not trying to pick on you, but the "opinions and suggestions" (not specific to you) commonly are essay sized posts arguing for dudes that have no...

If they don't find a #9thman then we the people of Illinoisloyalty dot com should take back those raises.

Are the #9thman folks even in agreement with what position we need? Thought we needed a backup backup power forward?

Stoj has until 05/27 to drop out of the draft and 5 new players are coming in the next 2-3 weeks. Seems reasonable to let the staff make sure they have bodies on campus before they pivot to filling a hypothetical hole in the back half of the roster. I don't think people are saying there isn't...

With NIL bringing over so many euros, are draft and stash guys going to be a thing anymore?

It's a good thing the staff has the summer to figure out if they want to add a Euro.

Wagler at 6, Boswell 56th and Stoj at 64 on the latest CBS post combine rankings. We could see Boz drafted.. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/2026-nba-draft-big-board-prospect-rankings-combine-morez-johnson-aday-mara-flory-bidunga/

You still need someone who will accept that role at a relatively low price point and won't cause locker room discontent. The silly parts about this conversation is that Ty redshirted rather than take on that role in the past... We know how he feels about the 8th / 9th slot. And even if stoj...

We just watched Morez Johnson in Maize and Blue (at least partially) because they didn't do this two years ago. It's a good thing, actually.

Yes, he can rebound, but he's a 6'6 PF with some guard skills and it seems pretty clear that Ty is not enough of a defender/ rebounder to justify having a dude who can't shoot. Ending up at a mid major where he will get a chance to get a bunch of touches and figure out his shot is a way better...

Transfer portal means a lot more dudes, particularly late bloomers will find it harder to get high major offers. WSU offered. Article discussing the local misses though: https://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/for-petes-sake/article314452302.html

Wagler's story is extraordinary enough on it's own, we don't need additional embellishments. ...although I did hear he dunked on Shaq.
