If it's the tendon, which it certainly sounds like, you gotta rehab it so the healthy part of the tendon makes up for the damaged part. Resting just contributes to rest/weakness/flare spiral. The tendon can possibly heal up but it's hard. Can do PRP injection, shockwave treatment, or surgery...
