I hope that he finds the will, drive, and focus needed for success.

    Ty Rodgers injury

This is really tough pill to swallow. Ty isn't the first ball player to be mired in the quicksand of a really bad injury, that reoccurs and reoccurs again, and he definitely won't be the last. I'm hoping that whatever doors outside of basketball that he wants to go through open up for him...

I don't feel that being positive but bringing some perspective along with that positivity equates to "tearing down the team (I) root for."

You must have guzzled at least 2 gallons of orange koolaid this morning to help you type these words. Vaaks is a great offensive player. He's not better than Haggerty or Blackwell, and definitely isn't anywhere near as proven.

I feel like if you're going to mention the 4.7 assists, you have to mention the 3.7 TOs. KJ did a lot of great things for us, but he just wasn't up for the offense-initiation responsibility we laid on his shoulders that season.

I feel completely differently. Unless an athlete is training to run that distance or longer at a fast pace, you just won't see D1 basketball conditioned athletes just trot out and run a sub 4:20 mile on the track. Basketball conditioning is completely different than miler conditioning...short...

Fair enough. Ben made some bigtime plays this past season, particularly on D.I just felt like Zens showed more lateral quickness and had faster bounce off the floor if that makes any sense.

When I watched Zens in the Wisky State Championship, he looked very lively with pretty good athleticism...not a freak by any means, but definitely a higher level of athleticism than Ben and Jake, both of whom were integral contributors to our final four season. Maybe you were watching a...

That is a ridiculous expectation to set. Our program has brought in players with more hype than Quentin who made a small fraction of the impact that Keaton made during their freshman seasons. Heck, Kiwane Garris had one of the best frosh seasons I can remember before that, and as incredible as...

Looking at KJ's stats, he's really focused on improving his care of the basketball this past season. 2.5/1 is a really good assist to TO ratio for a rookie playing on a mediocre team. Looking forward to seeing how he grows from here.

    Coaching Carousel (Basketball)

Seems pretty unfair to Kidd. The GM absolutely torpedoes his team by sending the team's franchise player to LA for much less value than he's worth. And Kidd is somehow supposed to coach up what's left. On the bright side for Kidd, someone's bound to hire him eventually.

I'm not a reflexive "insider defender" at all. Look at my posting history, and my opinions have certainly run counter to an "insider" or two here. But I don't really feel this line of critique is fair. I don't think anyone could have known exactly how good Keaton was until he showed up on...

It would shock me if he were more productive than Lucas. We're going to need Lucas to play some minutes given our depth chart at 1-3 at the moment.

He looks way more athletic than Jake or Ben in his highlights. I like him a lot and think he'll be able to challenge for PT much sooner than expected, particularly if we don't add any more front court players.
