Nothing wrong with trying to hype up a guy and I hope Mirk succeeds but I just don't think he moves well enough defensively to be a guy that is picked high in the NBA draft. 2nd round? Sure, but I think he makes more money in college.

Depends on how long he wants to wait. I think the problem with Wabbington if he wants to play the 4 is that I think Mirk will end up being a 4 or even 5 year guy.

Yeah that's just the nature of prep basketball now. Basically every highly ranked kid leaves and goes to academies for high school. Boswell reclassed so he spent 2 years in California and 1 in Arizona after growing up in Urbana. I think it's safe to say that he was a hometown kid for Illinois...

Kofi was just such an absurd matchup problem for basically every nearly every other team in college that he immediately raised the floor of the program the second he was on campus(the 2022 team that won the big10 title wasn't even really that good imo). Honestly if he stuck around one more year...

Castle was really the only top tier recruit that Hurley got on that team. Castle was ranked 9th, Clingan was a middling 4 star. So basically the the two best teams of recent memory(24 UConn and 26 Michigan) were not built with the Duke Burger boy template. So why are we worried about this...

I think it's more of he doesn't think Andrej is coming back for a 5th.

Would be a really really fun frontcourt to pair these two with Mirk. Seems unlikely Wabbington comes here to come off the bench though.

If you're from Southern Illinois than you're far far closer to the Cardinals than you are either Chicago team. Makes sense you that would grow up a fan of the team that's locally on tv and is easier to go to games. Same thing with the Rams when they existed in St Louis. Feel like Champaign...

I guess if Hurley wants to go to the NBA than it could make sense if Murray is succeeding. You're not going to move off of Hurley for him though. Schertz is still out there too so it's not like there is a shortage of good coaches potentially available for big spots.

Will be curious to see how Hurley manages without Murray. Murray supposedly designed the offense. Now, Hurley is a good coach, can recruit, and has resources but other teams will catch up. Hes obviously coached the offense for years and worked with Murray but it will be interesting to see if...
