Was it last year or the year before that it was really within our grasp, but we tried to matchup best vs best in ncaa match play, rather than being more strategic? Such a bummer.

Seems like it, we've gotten more $, but we're not keeping pace with the top 15 or so, would be my guess. I'd also guess that the hoops success has stolen some potential $ from football, but that is pure speculation.

Football is improving a lot, I think when the big $ looks at it, $1.5M can get you over the hump in hoops, but it’s a smaller impact in football - would $1.5M get is another win or into the CFP?

Such a great year with so many ups and downs, but it gave us all such great memories and will go down as one of the best Illini teams in history. It still blows my mind how unkind the rims were for us last tonight, and how friendly they were for UConn.
