    Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread

I suppose this is the place to put this though it sounds like it is unlikely to hold up in court. https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/48387866/executive-order-limits-ncaa-athletes-five-years-one-transfer

    Illini Football 2026

Okay….but it seems you think we spent 15 million based on this statement. So it’s hard to take your conclusion seriously when your “homework” appears to not include the post literally 5 above yours where 0440 said we spent $25 million, which is above Iowa, Washington, and Minnesota in your...

He means that our RBs were the worst in gaining yards after contact and tbh weren’t super effective blockers. The OL, while not elite, was at least middle of the pack and had our RBs been better at either of these two things our offense would’ve been even better than it was.

    Illinois 90, Southern 55 Postgame

@illini0440 Regarding NIL for someone like Wagler…do coaches (football/basketball) adjust NIL if a player breaks out like this? Like, I kind of assume he wasn’t getting a ton just based on recruiting rankings…but based on where he is now do they find ways to increase the NIL he’s getting? What’s...

We’ll see what happens when their entire schedule is worse than it already is because no P5 teams will play them.

    Coaching Carousel (Football)

Again…purposefully waiting to fire him until after signing day doesn’t do anything. Every single one of those signees, regardless of when they fire Moore, is free to leave, just as every single player on that roster is free to leave. Signing day is irrelevant here. If Michigan was 100% that this...

    Coaching Carousel (Football)

Recruiting doesn’t make any sense here though. Not with the way the portal works with a head coach change. The entire Michigan team can enter the portal now if they wanted to and anyone they signed can get out too. This harms Michigan far more to fire him now than it would’ve harmed them to...

    Coaching Carousel (Football)

Reliably: He appears to have had a relationship with a staffer, while married with kids. Michigan was conducting an investigation into it. Fired him for cause. Unclear why they acted now. The day they fired him, he was arrested. Seems likely this arrest was due to his actions post firing and not...

    Coaching Carousel (Football)

Am I reading this right and they are stating there are multiple victims? “Respecting the privacy of BOTH victims and the accused.” Seems like if it were a single victim they’d say “…privacy of the victim and the accused” or “…privacy of both the victim and the accused.”

    Coaching Carousel (Football)

Idk man…these are high end recruits. You’re telling me teams wouldn’t figure it out if they needed to? Or like…Penn State could throw a ton of cash their way because of what happened to their class.

    Coaching Carousel (Football)

Idk. It doesn’t make sense for them to wait. I mean the coaching carousel is effectively over. If they knew they were gonna do it, why not just do it right after the season like everyone else? After signing day means nothing since all those kids are now free to sign with whoever they want due to...

I don’t see how any thing can happen. What other major conference is gonna give Notre Dame exactly what it wants (football independence and everything else in conference)?

    Looking ahead to 2026

So for example in looking at this our line was actually providing for more yards before contact than Ohio State but our RBs were getting a full yard+ less after contact.

    Looking ahead to 2026

I’m not sure blaming the offensive line is an accurate representation of our run game issues. I forget who it was, but someone on this board posted some data that suggested our line was actually middling, but our RBs had some of the worst yards-after-contact numbers in all of the ncaa.
