Yes but there's 1 big difference in your comparison of blackjack to the game of basketball. If I sit down at a blackjack table.... I can't control whether I get dealt a 21 or whether I get dealt a 16. Only thing I can control is whether I hit, stand or surrender... and how much I bet per hand...
