Not that upset about this. He obviously wasn’t a fit from either his perspective or the coaches perspective, and he was gone in three months. Talent doesn’t trump chemistry or ego, in which one of those had to be a factor for the quick transfer.
Not an avid Illinois baseball follower(saw them play early with an L) , but it’s awesome to see them peaking at the right time. Also really cool that all the top teams pretty much control their own destiny in the final weeks of the season.
If the staff felt he could contribute, he would be immediately eligible and have four years of eligibility as long as he is academically cleared to enroll and compete. The top two names to do this, off the top of my head, were Chris Weinke and Brandon Weeden.
Can’t compare basketball and football. Football is a much bigger beast to turn around. Btw, did we forget the the 2007-2020 years of basketball and the two tournament wins we achieved.
Why? Even if we don’t win(which would suck), we will be competitive as long as BB is preparing us. Drink is killing it with recruiting and coaching, but our Illinois defeatist mentality will never get us where we want to be .
A lot of doom and gloom here for sure. We blew a major opportunity last year when the schedule was setup for us to win 7-8 games.
That most definitely hurt recruiting.
However, looking at this schedule, I don’t know why everyone is certain of a loss at home to Kansas. Their skill players are...
If we had a decent tackle, Adams at guard would have been huge. He nor Crisler handled tackle well. That being said, I think Adams will have a solid NFL career. He and Tip together in AZ!
Don’t forget Ca’lil Valentine doesn’t enroll until summer. He could be in play as a smaller speed back this year. BB will run freshmen backs out there.
Every time I’ve seen and heard this name the past couple years, I instantly think about the deep 3 Jenkins hit for Villanova to defeat UNC in the NCAA basketball championship. That was great to see UNC lose. That Kris Jenkins looked like he should be an NFL draftee.
I’m late to the party! Congrats Johnny! Great steal of a pick for Washington. A good situation for Johnny. He gets to reunite with Quan too. Too bad K. Smith didn’t stick in Washington.
