Hey, I was a huge Cards football fan growing up. I even got to party a few times with Jay Novacek the summer he was drafted. I was working in the EIU locker room that summer and the Cards football camp was there. Partied at Marty’s across the street.

10 cent Sunday night draft beer at Kams in the summer. No foam in those though. Thursday Lil Kings buckets at Cochrans. Can’t remember prices. But we set the world record twice. Fought it out with Buckeyes. Opened up at 9am for those 2 events. Mid 80s

He was great in his day! He loved the Flying Illini. Met him in a bar in Champaign back in the day and he couldn’t have been nicer. Prayers for him.

I love Jake in his role off the bench but He is a one dimensional scorer. I don’t think he would average 17 points per game at any level of college hoops. Did you see him against Connecticut where he had a wide open lay up and the guy caught up and although he got fouled he shoulda easily still...

Agree, the first 2 final fours we were the best team. Feel bad for the guys but I think they reached their potential this year. Proud of this team. They were lots of fun and got us to the final fours. This one doesn’t hurt near as much as the other 2.

I heard about him on some podcast. Apparently he is kind of a different guy. Doesn’t really enjoy the spotlight or high expectations. Grew up in a military family. Very regimented and not one for much nonsense. Just passing along what I heard.
