I tend to agree about Dain as well. He's 270 but appears to move like someone 230, has a 7'7" wingspan, and got to battle with Kofi in practice for a semester. As long as can stay out of foul trouble it's hard to believe he won't get a lot of pt. I know he barely played at all at Baylor, but...

    Illini Basketball 2022-2023

Underwood likes to talk about how it's quite an adjustment once a player goes from being a good contributor to the primary focus of the opponent's game plan. It's doubtful any of the guys have been through that at the college level - even Mayer and TSJ. TSJ had some really nice games but was...

My guess is that Bryce has a plan for how he wants to announce where he's commiting to.

So if Kofi returns, Lieb will get a year in Fletch's program and banging against Kofi (and Giorgi) in practice. My guess is that in a year from now, he will be much improved player and ready to contribute for the 2021-22 season.

I keep reading that Miller is wanting to make sure that Ayo leaves. I would think he'd want Ayo to stay. Ayo plays PG. Miller - SG. I would think Ayo staying would affect AC's playing time more than Miller. What am I missing?

Kofi will be a problem for Zona. He's got 3 inches and 40 ponds on Jeter. I expect Ayo to be pumped up for this matchup with Mannion. They'll obviously have to prepare for Feliz too with the way he's playing. AG is playing well. That doesn't even include Trent and Giorgi who haven't played...

Virginia 85, Texas Tech 77 OT

Since the 2013-14 season, Virginia has won the ACC regular title 4 times, finished 2nd once, and 5th once. Considering the recruits that Duke and UNC get, the general number of quality other teams in the league, and the lack of elite commits that Virginia gets... it's pretty incredible. Happy...

I'm not too worried about Kofi's conditioning. He's got two things going for him. 1. Fletch 2. The rest of the team seems to have really embraced conditioning. Hard to believe it won't rub off on him once he's surrounded by them.

Hope you're right about Higgs and that he's gotten himself into shape.

That will probably be dependent on how well Giorgi can stay out of foul trouble and how quickly De la Rosa is able to play major minutes. But even then, I expect Kipper will play some at the 5 just to see how much trouble the small ball gives the opposition. If it doesn't work one night, those...

    Illini Basketball 2018-2019

My guess is that we'll be pressing a lot, but yeah... it'll be interesting to see how BU approaches it when a team can handle the press. I could also see opposing teams having to play a lot of zone as well when we go small - mainly because there will be times when the opposing center won't have...

Maybe... I would think a lot of stopping/starting would make it even more of half court game. Which would test our post defense even more. I'm just glad they got some practice against some good size prior to playing Georgetown's big guy.

Vandy is a good team with promising bigs. This was a good test and great experience for Illinois. The fact that it apparently went down to the wire should both give them confidence and let them know that they have some work to do.

Yep... better now in practice than later during the games. Those refs aren't at practice to swallow their whistle.
