    Gies Memorial Stadium

I'm taking the measurements off Google Maps, but the Horseshoe is anywhere from 60-75ft from Kirby. An additional 50ft could make all the difference regarding design concepts. Reconfiguring Kirby may not be necessary, but shifting the roadway south isn't a major undertaking. Especially since it...

    Gies Memorial Stadium

There don't have to be seats back that far. The space can be programmed countless ways and grants way more design flexibility...which is necessary to protect the historic architecture of MS. My preference is to maintain the height of the E/W balconies in the SEZ, even if the seating isn't tiered...

    Gies Memorial Stadium

I'm not worried about finding replacement parking for SFC. There are plenty of strategies that could be implemented to maintain the current count. Kirby is too close to the stadium and it greatly limits what can be done to improve the SEZ. More room to work with adjacent to the stadium would...

    Gies Memorial Stadium

Rerouting Kirby is a relatively minor project in comparison to tunneling. It's a modest public improvements job by any stretch and gives the AD a lot more room to work with. Tens of thousands of people show up for those events...they're major money makers for the community. It should definitely...

Kirby doesn't have to be tunneled or closed. It could just be rerouted. You wouldn't even need to close it while the rerouted portion was constructed. Even this may be over doing it...

    Illini Football 2026

I've not followed how we're doing in the portal, but MSU, Nebraska, UCLA, Iowa, and maybe even Northwestern feel like tossup games to me.

    Illini Football 2026

I think we need divisions for this to even be remotely considered, which means ND +1. The internet came out of nowhere w Pitt to the B1G, which would be a no-brainer for PSU. That'd likely make Rutgers-Maryland a game and MSU-ND a game on rivalry week.

    Illini Football 2026

I think the NU game would be more "meaningful" if the regular season ended the week before Thanksgiving break. No one is on campus when it's at home. The game in Evanston is logistically easier for a lot of the fanbase, but it's competing with everything else going on...

    Gies Memorial Stadium

I'm OK with the scoreboard being improved first. That said, I do hope people continue to show up (and the students stay) so we increase capacity without decreasing occupancy.

I feel confident about this one. Strong possibility we close the season out undefeated, but Northwestern is looking better each week...

Pregame: Illinois at Purdue, Saturday, October 4th, 11:00am CT, BTN

I think Purdue is a better team than the CFB world may give them credit for, but we should win this soundly.
