I mean, if you're a 5-star recruit and likely future NBA player, I'm sure there are plenty of people with the resources, connections, and motivation to make it fun for you.

    Illini in the NBA

100% this. In college his biggest value add was his scoring. In the NBA it's his defense. He's just good at everything and able to focus on what his team/coach needs most from him.

I kind of have a very different opinion. First off, I'm a big DMW fan. The one thing he does on offense I don't get is he often passes up good but not great shot opportunities and then drives it. It rarely seems to work out. Honestly, if he just took the shot and made it at a 25% clip we'd...

Purdue rematch moved to Feb. 8th

As much as I hate Michigan, I don't think they're legit contenders for the Big Ten championship so I'd rather they beat Purdue

Yeah, that last criteria is a classic "catch-all." It allows the Athletic Dept. the leeway to put up someone they want that doesn't meet any of the other criteria.

Yeah, after Wisconsin and @Indiana, those two extra days would have been nice.

I think that's probably right. Edit: Actually I think the guy below is right

Probably helps that neither offered him (which is crazy too!). Now, he did get offers from MSU, Iowa, Maryland and Butler and I feel like in the Weber/Groce eras he'd have taken one of those over us.

I mean, AC has been pretty much injured all season so that's not really fair. If you look at last year, I think you can certainly argue for either. I don't think it's ridiculous to say AC is the 2nd best. I also don't think it's ridiculous to say Trent is.

Just watched it again. CoHawks arm isn't straight up as Hall is coming up to shoot, but angled into Hall. He then gets Hall on the arm with his left arm, then again with his right arm. Also, contact occurs before the shot, but shot doesn't leave Hall's hand until after the buzzer. If Hawkins...

I'm not saying he shouldn't contest. That's the point. Contest without fouling. What happens if he makes it through the contact? Then you're suddenly on the verge of losing instead of maybe going to overtime. Also, guy's a 70% FT shooter. Was that even a 50% shot? Not if contested (without fouling)

Eh, that was not a good foul. Even without the contact that's not a gimme layup. It's lower percentage in most circumstances than the charity stripe. We got lucky he missed the front end. I'm a big fan of CoHawk, but he messed that up. Luckily we didn't pay for it.

Gutsy performance, everyone was gassed at the end but they held on. Sure they almost lost this one, but I think any reasonable fan was willing to forgive a loss under these circumstances before the game. Makes up for the Maryland game and then some. In control of our own destiny in the Big 10...
