I have talked to Groce personally about it. Groce never contacted him about coming to Illinois. But he did contact him/family. It was not a 'never heard from again' story.

Groce spoke to Levert. "constant" was wrong choice of word. but Levert was told no guard spot open at Illinois.

Groce was in constant contact with Levert. There was no room for another guard is what he was told
