Agreed. OSU was the loudest I can remember hearing on TV during this era (I think Trent Frazier also said it was the loudest crowd he's heard). 24/25 Purdue was also great. The big Krush fall off seems to have happened in the last few years.

Yeah and I do think even the Krush admitted they've fallen off. I think we have had some very loud crowds (I noticed in general the year after covid crowds were louder everywhere including at state farm), but so many games feel sleepy now. That being said, for me that shows the long way...

Funny the bears mentioned referencing the Illini football uniforms in honor of George Halas with the new jerseys. Everyone here wanted us to look like the bears when we played in Chicago and they ended up looking like us!

Out of the games I've been to (including 2025 USC and 2024 Michigan), this may have been the atmosphere. I loved 2025 USC that was probably my favorite game. Beautiful day, fun game, first time with a studio show in town, and the campus was hyped.

The rebrand itself was so football focused for a basketball school. It kind of goes with the idea imo that we don't really have a ton of football/basketball traditions, and they basically just went wild with the two they found (Memorial Stadium and Red Grange).

Because we are the higher seed. We mostly wear the whites as the "home team", especially in the tourney.
