Assuming Iowa holds on to beat Maryland at home (currently up double digits), the Big Ten standings will look like this tomorrow morning:

Purdue: 5-1
Rutgers: 5-2
Michigan State: 4-2
Michigan: 4-2
Iowa: 4-3
Illinois: 3-3
Northwestern: 3-3
Penn State: 3-3
Wisconsin: 3-3
Maryland: 2-4
Indiana: 2-4
Ohio State: 2-4
Nebraska: 2-5
Minnesota: 1-4

Unbelievable, lol. Huge game tomorrow with MSU hosting #3 Purdue during the afternoon before our game, as well. An MSU win doesn't just help our resume, it REALLY opens up the Big Ten title race giving Purdue that second loss, moving THREE teams into a tie for first place and (hopefully) Illinois and Iowa nipping right at their heels!

Can MSU best PU today?
To me it comes down to 3 things.
1 is Hall ankle good. If he is limited I don’t see MSU having a chance
2 Can they match Edey. Other than Mandy they didn’t seem to have much depth which could mean Edey is going to go off
3 how many more 3s is PU going to make than MSU

I know I wouldn’t want to play Izzo after a tough loss and at home. If MSU wins conference race becomes interesting again

Is Hall playing? It looked like his ankle got re-injured near the end of our game.

If he’s out, I don’t expect MSU to do well until he’s back in the lineup.

I noticed this against us, and some against Purdue today as well: Michigan St. settles for a lot of long twos. Maybe it’s the fact that Edey and Dainja both operate in drop coverage, and that’s what the defense is allowing, but it feels like this Sparty team really settles for so-so looks. I think that’s partially what you get with Hall out and not much strength on the interior. Guards just have to make a play off the PnR and hunt their own open shots.

Malik Hall is out for MSU. “It looks like he’s gonna be out for a while. Maybe a long while,” Izzo said

That face you make when your team finally makes a three pointer.

But… msu 4 for 13 from 3 today

Not saying they are even close to as good, but this Purdue team plays with the poise of a team like our 2005 Illini. Even when they are not playing their best, they seem to take every punch and give it back, even in a hostile environment.

Freshman guards play like seniors. Seriously. I don’t know how Purdue lucked out with these 2. Might be the best backcourt in the Big Ten.
