Vitale needs the coaches, that is why he has kissed Knight's !!! and taken his abuse. Still don't know who he was eluding to that were caught and not punished.

Still the best team ever IMO non-homer opinion not to win the title...it is what it is to me ,, when that team was healthy was best hands down even that BS in finale four to Michigan ....Vaught, Mills or whoever lucked out ....owned them must of that game and regular season ...they would have killed Seton Hall by 30 in the finale...

I thought the Syracuse team that we beat in the Elite 8 was better than Michigan. Sherman Douglass, Billy Owens and Derrick Colman were outstanding.

Glen Rice got on a tournament heater and Rumeal Robinson played out of his mind. For Sean Higgins, of all the guys, to best us bothers me to this day. They got Mills to take an awful shot and Nick got caught watching. (Sigh)

Right (agree Syracuse being better) ,, disgusts me to this day . You are correct that Orangemen squad was great , Illini` even beat a dang good team in Ball State that tourney also , I remember like yesterday that half court alley-oop to Lowell Hamilton who turned backwards and dunked it with major authority that game . Man how can no one not love the `89 Flyin` Illini`....

Yes, That is correct, would have lost Mizzou the game. Down 3 with 6 seconds left Mizzou missed a 3 and Tilmon grabbed the rebound for a slam dunk attempt. He missed it, the ball was rebounded by a Mizzou player who threw it out for the tying 3 point attempt with 3 seconds left. If Tilmon made the dunk Mizzou loses.

Fair enough. The OSU game hurts being a professor at OSU and getting grief for my beloved Illini. Just bitterness.
